PureLight Solar operated across the Pacific Northwest and was one of the more visible residential solar installers in the Rogue Valley for years. Freedom Forever Solar was a national company with a significant Oregon footprint. Both are now out of business.
For homeowners, that means the warranties, monitoring agreements, maintenance calls, and follow-up service those companies provided are no longer being honored. The solar panels themselves didn’t change. What changed is who’s responsible for them. Right now, for a lot of customers in Southern Oregon, the answer is no one.
If you had a power purchase agreement (PPA) with either company, the situation is more complicated. A PPA means you didn’t own the panels. The installer did. You were buying the power they produced. With the installer gone, the ownership and servicing of that equipment is unresolved.
